Haresh S. Kane, MD, CWSP
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Kane has always cherished a challenge. This led him to pursue his medical degree in Hungary where he graduated Cum Laude in 2003. To this day, he remains fluent in Hungarian and often cites that experience as a defining moment in his life. Yearning to pursue his education further, he then trained and completed an Internal Medicine residency program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a teaching institution which was, at the time, affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. However, his true passion was wound care and decided to pursue an unconventional career path which has now culminated into a medical practice that spans multiple states. Dr. Kane is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also maintains certification with the American Board of Wound Management where he holds the coveted designation of CWSP (Certified Wound Specialist Physician).
With the goal of disrupting the current wound care delivery model of healthcare, along with the beliefs that every patient is entitled to high quality wound care and that the clinician is the one who should travel to the patient, not the other way around, Dr. Kane founded Kane Wound Care, formerly Princeton Wound Care, to deliver bedside wound care. Since then, he has grown the company to become one of the largest wound care provider groups in New Jersey, servicing nursing homes, assisted living facilities and independent living facilities. Dr. Kane believes there are three absolute tenets to great care and requests that all of his wound care providers show the same: Always be happy, always be humble and always be honest.
Pavala Kane, MSF
Chief Financial OfficerPavala Kane started her career in finance at Bear Stearns on the eve of the global financial crisis and transitioned to healthcare finance while working for Bayada Nurses. She continued to foster her passion for customer driven finance at Alcatel-Lucent as a Public Markets Analyst. Here, she helped manage the company’s $32 billion defined benefit and defined contribution funds. In 2012, she seized the opportunity to help grow Kane Wound Care nationally. Her acumen for strategic financial planning has helped Kane Wound Care achieve greater heights. Pavala earned her Master of Science in Finance from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University.
Michael E. Jensen, MD, CWSP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jensen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) where he holds an Advanced Certification in Wound Care for Physicians (CWSP). He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency in General Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, now Mt. Sinai Morningside/West. During his residency, Dr. Jensen developed an interest in wound care and ran several hospital-based wound clinics as a senior resident. Shortly after residency, he joined a small, west coast wound care practice where he was critical in its expansion throughout the northeast region. Over the next 12 years, Dr. Jensen provided wound and surgical care in the subacute, long-term, assisted living and home settings. Dr. Jensen joined Kane Wound Care in January of 2020 as the CMO, overseeing our clinicians and implementing best practices in the field of wound care management.
Katie Krasinski, MA, LNHA
Chief Operating Officer
Katie Krasinski is an experienced Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, formerly working for a large skilled nursing and rehabilitation provider in New Jersey. During her time in the skilled nursing environment, Katie successfully implemented specialized clinical programs including memory support and wound care delivery models. In addition to her tenure in skilled nursing, Katie also served as the Executive Director in an assisted living facility. Katie brings with her a proven commitment to excellent customer service, high quality of patient care, and advocacy for the well-being of seniors and the aging population. Katie earned her Master’s degree from Centenary College in Leadership and Public Administration and her Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration from Marywood University.
Cullen Chiu, MSN, ANP-BC, CWS
Chief Nursing OfficerCullen Chiu is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Pittsburgh University and his Masters from Monmouth University and is also a Certified Wound Specialist accredited by the American Board of Wound Management. Along with extensive nursing home wound care treatment experience, Cullen also worked with a urology surgeon in post-surgical care. Currently, he specializes in all types of wounds including venous, arterial, diabetic and pressure wounds. He has collaborated with the Visiting Nurse Association to create a home wound care option for patients as an alternative to traveling to and from a facility.
Robert Calalang, BSN, RN, CWS
Director of Quality Assurance and Performance ImprovementRobert Calalang is a Registered Nurse and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Felician University. He has been in the nursing home industry since 2007 starting as a receptionist, rehabilitation tech, and then working his way up in the clinical field as a staff nurse, unit manager, assistant director of nursing, director of nursing, and lastly as an assistant administrator. During that time, he also worked as a trauma nurse at Jersey Shore Medical Center, a level one trauma hospital, to improve his assessment skills and clinical practices. Robert has always stayed true to his morals and ethics which is shown by his humbleness and genuineness when it comes to providing the best customer service and top notch patient care. He always believed management starts at the top, and leaders lead by example which he proves by letting his actions speak louder than words.
